The Anne Brower School

Meet the Owner

My name is Lisa Marie George and together with Anne Brower we are happy to announce that I am the new Owner and Director of The Anne Brower School. I am enthusiastically looking forward to meeting all former and future parents and their little ones. I am pleased to share with you relevant background information on myself. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2001 and went on to complete a Master's Degree in Literacy Studies from Long Island University in 2004. After my undergraduate, I started my teaching career in 2001 as a Kindergarten teacher at The Happy Montessori School in Port Washington, New York. After three wonderful years there I accepted a teaching position in the Port Washington School District where I went on to teach grades K, 2, 3 and 5.

My dream has always been to someday own my own private school that I could be proud of and which would be recognized in the highest regard by the children and families of our Long island community.

In 2010 I personally established Believing in Little Miracles, Inc. the owner of the Long Island Fun Bus Franchise, "Fun Bus Fitness Fun on Wheels". I currently have 2 buses and 10 employees serving many of the most well established daycares and some of the most prestigious nursery schools in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This is how I came to know and respect Anne Brower's Nursery School.

In February of 2015, my husband Mike and I, our son Logan and our identical twin girls Payton and Paige, moved to Cold Spring Harbor from Plainview, New York. Shortly after we moved we were in search of the area's best school to send our son in the fall. I learned from everyone in the neighborhood how wonderful Anne Brower's Nursery School is. When shortly thereafter I heard that she planned to close her school of 27 years, I as many other families in our community was saddened but ultimately to the point of motivation.

I hoped and thought that this might be my opportunity to live out my dream. My family and I reached out to Anne and asked her if she would help us save her school. Much to all of our pleasant surprise we found a way.

What I want you to know most about me, Lisa Marie, is that I am extremely passionate and driven in working with and educating young children. Anne mentioned in a recent email that a miracle has happened and it has been my belief in little miracles, my passion for children and my motivation to make sure that every child gets the most memorable nursery school experience that has attributed to my "dream come true".

While keeping the heart and core of Anne Brower's Nursery School the same, I plan on developing and offering many more educational opportunities and exciting new and innovative programs. I plan to work tirelessly to restore the facilities and to enhance and beautify the grounds for everyone to admire and be proud of. Anne will stay on as a consultant and therefore continue to be involved as the school moves forward.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you, answer any questions you may have and of course take you on a tour of our newly renovated facility.

Kind regards,

Lisa Marie George
